Gordon Harvey leaves his usual haunts (Aquiline, Stellia) for this solo album. With the help of the wonderful Invictus Quartet, he combines strings, piano and electronic treatments for a unique and beautiful slant on neoclassical music. While serving their traditional roles of providing rhythm, melody and harmony, the acoustic instruments provide the source for the treatments, turning the electronics into their own instrument - no synthesisers or samplers are used.
